What the guides are
Homeowner & HOA Living Desk publishes plain-English explanations of common processes in HOA and condominium life — reading governing documents before buying, assessments and reserve studies, architectural requests, violations, disputes, and resale paperwork. State law and your association’s own declaration, bylaws, and rules control, and those vary widely.
Not legal advice
- Nothing here is legal advice, and reading it creates no attorney–client or advisory relationship.
- Before acting on a deadline, an assessment challenge, a dispute with your board, or a resale requirement, check your governing documents and current state statute and consult a licensed attorney in your state where the stakes warrant it.
- We do not represent homeowners or associations and do not take sides in a specific dispute.
